Chelsea have this afternoon confirmed the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.
After weeks of speculation, the Blues announced on their official website on Monday afternoon that Mauricio Pochettino has taken charge at Stamford Bridge as the new head coach.
The Argentine is set to begin his new role on 1 July ahead of the 2023/24 season.
It’s worth adding that the 51-year-old’s penned a two-year deal, with a club option of a further year.

In today’s announcement from Chelsea, the club’s owners issued a statement on Pochettino’s arrival.
Owners Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali, José E. Feliciano, Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss have told the club’s website:
“The sporting team conducted a diligent and thoughtful process that the Board is proud of. We are delighted that Mauricio will be joining Chelsea. Mauricio is a world-class coach with an outstanding track record. We are all looking forward to having him on board.”

Chelsea fans can new breathe and look forward to next season now that the world’s worst kept secret is official.
There’s been a lot of time for supporters to get used to the idea of Pochettino at the Bridge, which some won’t like because of his previous Tottenham connections.
However, this is an exciting coach that likes to play attacking football and has a great CV when it comes to developing youngsters.
He’s now back in management for the first time since leaving Paris Saint-Germain, so we can’t wait to see what he’s got up his sleeve when he takes the helm at Chelsea.
Blues attacker Noni Madueke, 21, said yesterday he’s looking forward to working with Pochettino. He, along with the club’s other youngster, should be celebrating today’s news!
