Cesc Fabgreas has suggested that Chelsea should appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their next permanent manager.

It’s all going wrong at Chelsea under caretaker boss Frank Lampard, who’s now lost six straight matches since returning to Stamford Bridge.

The latest setback for the Blues was a 3-1 away defeat on Tuesday night against Arsenal, who thoroughly deserved the three points that put them back on top of the Premier League table.

Many feel like this team are already on the beaches and have thrown in the towel on this season. However, there’s still five league games left to play.

Former Chelsea star Fabregas has been discussing the managerial situation in West London.

Mauricio Pochettino, 51, is the name that is strongly linked in the media right now. In fact, journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that Chelsea could appoint Pochettino as next season’s manager later this week.

When asked if he would be happy with Chelsea appointing Pochettino, Fabregas told Sky Sports’ Main Event channel (10:55pm, 2 May): “I think so. As you mentioned he had a really good experience with Spurs, developing young players and he took them to a really good level. So why not? It’s just about getting the right person, which is the difficult thing.”

Chelsea fans are begging for any kind of good news to lift the dire mood around the club right now.

If Pochettino’s arrival for next season is confirmed, Blues supporters can have something to look forward to.

The 51-year-old may not have been everyone’s favoured choice at the start of the process, but we think the fanbase will give him the chance he deserves next season.

After all, the Argentine coach does have a fairly strong CV and could be a great fit for our young talented squad.
