Hakim Ziyech said he has been in contact with “a couple of Chelsea players” since his transfer announcement back in February.

The 27-year-old was at Stamford Bridge when the Blues secured the three points against Norwich City with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday.

He has also had some training sessions at Cobham, although he will have to wait until next season before making his debut in a Chelsea shirt.

Prior to the match, Ziyech gave an interview in which he said some of his teammates have already welcomed him before his arrival this month.

Asked whether he had already known some of Chelsea players when he signed, Ziyech told the club’s official website: “In the beginning, none.

“But from the moment it was clear I would come to Chelsea, I spoke to a couple of players.

“They told me ‘welcome’. From February until now we’ve had some contacts.”

He didn’t mention the names of those players but Ziyech has already had an opportunity to meet with his teammates at Stamford Bridge at Norwich City game.

Chelsea also shared a couple of pictures of Ziyech talking with Christian Pulisic and Ross Barkley in the dressing room.

Ziyech also sent a message to the Chelsea fans.

“I cannot wait to play, I’m excited,” he said. “[The next season] can’t come soon enough.

“I waited for this moment for a long time, four to five months, but it’s finally here, I will do everything in my power to make everybody happy.”
