Arsenal lost 1-0 to Inter Milan in the Champions League during the week, which followed their 1-0 loss against Newcastle United. Chelsea, on the other hand, head into the derby in a buoyant mood after beating Noah 8-0 in the Conference League.
Enzo Maresca made 11 changes for the game, meaning key players like Moises Caicedo and Cole Palmer were both rested.
Chelsea believe that Caicedo is better than Declan Rice, and the 23-year-old should have the chance to prove that later.

Moises Caicedo set for clash with Declan Rice
Despite breaking a toe, Rice is expected to play against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge later.
A lot of eyes will be on him and Caicedo, with the two midfielders being two of the most expensive signings in Premier League history.
Last season, Rice got a lot of plaudits, while Caicedo was often criticised as he struggled to live up to his £115m price tag.
However, this term, it is the Ecuadorian who has been coming in for praise. He has looked better than Rice and can prove that he was the superior signing out of the two with a dominant performance this afternoon.
Moises Caicedo having a better season than Declan Rice
Former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke recently claimed that Caicedo is the best midfielder in the Premier League at this moment in time.
That would mean that the Ecuador international is superior to Rice right now, and the stats actually back that up.
For example, Caicedo has made more tackles and interceptions than the 25-year-old this season. Interestingly, the former has also played more through balls than the latter, who is yet to register one.
Ultimately, as well as winning the ball back, Caicedo is also contributing to Chelsea’s attacking moves right now.
| Player | Tackles | Interceptions | Through balls |
| Moises Caicedo | 35 | 17 | 5 |
| Declan Rice | 11 | 9 | 0 |
Romeo Lavia has described Caicedo as an “amazing player”. He has shown that this season and can prove that statement even further by bossing Rice and his Arsenal teammates later.
