Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has undoubtedly been one of the best players in his team this season.
Moises Caicedo just helped Chelsea to earn a point against Manchester United after scoring a fantastic volley at Old Trafford last Sunday.
“Now he’s got the power,” former USA international Janusz Michallik said when discussing Caicedo after the game.
Another pundit has now heaped praise on the 23-year-old ahead of Chelsea’s massive fixture against Arsenal this weekend.

Adrian Clarke highlights Moises Caicedo’s role in Chelsea’s improved form
Things are going much better for Chelsea this season, with Enzo Maresca’s men currently sitting fourth in the table.
Former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke has put that down to Caicedo’s excellent performances in a blue shirt and now thinks that the Ecuadorian is the best midfielder in the country.
At the beginning of his latest Talking Tactics column for the Premier League’s official website, Clarke wrote: “Chelsea’s much-improved form this season owes plenty to the excellence of Caicedo. The 23-year-old has taken a while to settle at Stamford Bridge, following his big-money move from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2023.
“Yet, on current form, Caicedo is the best central midfielder in the country. Alongside new partner Romeo Lavia, the Ecuadorian has been outstanding in his last three appearances against Liverpool, Newcastle United and Manchester United.”
Former Chelsea defender Jason Cundy is really liking what he is seeing from Caicedo at the moment as well.
How does Moises Caicedo compare to Declan Rice?
This Sunday could see Caicedo go up against Declan Rice, two of the most expensive signings in Premier League history.
Both players will be expected to win the ball back in the middle of the park for their respective sides. This season, there is no doubt that Caicedo has done that much better than Rice.
When it comes to both tackles and interceptions, the Ecuador international comes out on top, though he has played one more game than his upcoming opponent.
| Player | Tackles | Interceptions |
| Moises Caicedo | 35 | 17 |
| Declan Rice | 11 | 9 |
Ultimately, when it comes to winning the ball back at least, there probably is not a better midfielder in the country than Caicedo.
Gabriel Agbonlahor was in awe of Caicedo after watching him against United. If the former Brighton man can outshine Rice should the Englishman be fit enough to play, he will certainly win more plaudits.
Whatever happens at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, though, Maresca can be pleased with how Caicedo has started this season.
