Chelsea can recreate Jadon Sancho success story by signing ‘misunderstood’ Premier League star

A few eyebrows were raised when Chelsea completed their only signing on transfer deadline day last summer.

While the club were making desperate attempts to complete the signing of Victor Osimhen, they were able to finalise a deal to sign Jadon Sancho on an initial loan from Manchester United.

Everything points to the England international moving to Stamford Bridge on a permanent basis, and everyone at the club will be absolutely delighted with their business to bring him in.

Enzo Maresca has been really impressed by Sancho since he joined, and in recent weeks he has established himself as a regular member of their starting XI.

The winger’s career had been floundering at Old Trafford, and his situation is not too dissimilar to that of Marcus Rashford at the moment.

Chelsea should take risk to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United

Despite being the 12th top scorer in the club’s illustrious history, he was nowhere to be seen in the matchday squad for the Manchester derby against Man City at the weekend.

Henry Winter released an interview with Rashford where the striker said he was ‘misunderstood’ amongst other things, as he hinted that he was ready for a move away.

Very few sides were willing to take the risk on Sancho, however the fact that Chelsea did and reaped the rewards should see them interested in a similar deal for Rashford.

The pair are good friends from their time together at United and England, and being 27 years old, Rashford would bring some much-needed experience at the top level to the Chelsea squad.

Rashford could replace Mykhailo Mudryk

It would be undoubtable that Chelsea would be strengthening if he was signed to replace Mykhailo Mudryk, who has failed to break into the side on a regular basis pretty much ever since he joined.

Anyone who has doubts over the forward’s well-documented issues off the pitch should use Sancho as an example that the Blues can still get the best out of him if they do make the move.

It would likely depend on Rashford accepting he would not automatically be a guaranteed starter in West London, although he no doubt still has the ability to become a star at Stamford Bridge.
