Some Chelsea fans will not want to see Joao Felix leave the club permanently in the summer.

Despite Joao Felix not playing much at Chelsea this season before his loan move to AC Milan, there is a recognition among supporters that the forward has a lot of talent and had more to offer during the current campaign.

However, Milan’s reported desire to buy the forward could help the Blues to land one of their transfer targets, who is a very good one.

Felix could depart Chelsea for good before the end of June. The 25-year-old has not even been at Stamford Bridge for a year, but he is far from Enzo Maresca‘s thinking at the moment.

AC Milan willing to sell Theo Hernandez to sign Joao Felix permanently

Left-back has become a bit of an issue for Chelsea. While Marc Cucurella may be one of the best players in his position in the Premier League, there is currently no real cover for him.

Renato Veiga joined Juventus on loan last month, wanting to play more and as a central defender, while Ben Chilwell is not in Maresca’s plans. It means that the Blues could have to sign a new left-back this summer.

According to TBR Football, Chelsea have an interest in signing Milan’s Theo Hernandez, who could become available in the next transfer window.

Another outlet, La Gazzetta dello Sport, has claimed that Milan want to buy Felix from Chelsea and are prepared to offload Theo in order to make that happen.

Paolo Maldini labels Theo Hernandez ‘special’

As a defender playing for Milan, nothing can feel better than being praised by the legendary Paolo Maldini.

Theo has been a recipient of praise from Maldini, who described him as “special” on an Instagram post last year.

It is not too much of a surprise, as the 27-year-old is one of the best left-backs in the world. Going forward, he is exceptional.

Last season, Theo scored five goals and provided four assists in 32 Serie A appearances. Over the last year, he has also been making 3.42 progressive carries and 1.12 successful take-ons per 90 (via FBref), which are quite high numbers for a full-back.

If there is a chance for Chelsea to snap up the France international in the summer, then it is a no-brainer.
