Deadline day turned out to be a little bit underwhelming as far as Chelsea were concerned, with the big stories being about who did end up departing the club.
The major exit was Nicolas Jackson, who despite looking as if his dream move was off did get his way and joined Bayern Munich.
Chelsea instead decided to recall Marc Guiu from Sunderland to deputise in the striker position, with Liam Delap sweating on results of a scan following injury against Fulham.
It may be seen as a bit of an own goal by the Blues though. Guiu is ineligible to play in the League Cup after already featuring in the competition for another side.

Chelsea should be kicking themselves after missing out on Randal Kolo Muani
An emergency signing on loan was reportedly too difficult to pull off, however rivals Tottenham managed to do so when they secured the temporary addition of Randal Kolo Muani.
Chelsea were linked to Kolo Muani late in the window, with him clearly out of the picture at parent club, PSG.
The Blues will be praying that Delap’s injury is not too serious, however early diagnosis from Enzo Maresca suggested that he could be out for as long as eight weeks.
Given the fact Joao Pedro has looked far more impactful playing away from the striker position, many have been left wishing they would have brought in a new option to play up front.
Kolo Muani is one who has slipped through the cracks, and now the pressure is on those already at the club to deliver.

Chelsea may look to the youth if in striker crisis
Another injury in the striker role would really cause a headache for Maresca, who could be forced to look to the academy to fill the voids.
Shumaira Mheuka made a number of first team appearances last season, and will have left an impression on the manager, particularly during his time in the Conference League.
Mheuka scored five goals in the first three games of the new season, and is looking in electric form for the U21s.
Many would have preferred a senior option to come in, but the pathway could now be there for the youngster to make a real impact on the first team squad.
