The excitement at Chelsea this week is around Estevao Willian’s first few days at the club, and many people are expecting to see the Brazilian wonderkid light up the Premier League.

Without a doubt, Estevao Willian, who turned 18 in April, is such an exciting addition at Stamford Bridge. The teenage attacker arrives at Chelsea with the reputation as one of the world’s most talented youngsters, so it will be fascinating to see how quickly he settles in England.

Estevao has set himself huge targets at Chelsea, including becoming the world’s best player.

While we are eager to see him make his debut for the Blues, it may be worth everyone managing their expectations of the newcomer because he’s making a gigantic step in his career. Estevao could be eased in by Chelsea, but much will depend on how he does at Cobham in training.

Joao Pedro is Chelsea’s best signing since Cole Palmer

Many people may look at Estevao as Chelsea’s most exciting addition since Cole Palmer joined them from Manchester City in 2023. Even though we expect the South American talent to have a successful future in West London, we think Joao Pedro may actually be the Blues’ best signing in the past two years.

Honourable mentions go to the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Pedro Neto as Chelsea signings that have slotted in perfectly at the club. However, summer recruit Pedro feels like he could be a special purchase.

Enzo Maresca’s side signed Pedro from Brighton at the start of July, and within two weeks he made himself a fan favourite.

The 23-year-old forward immediately joined up with Chelsea’s squad at the Club World Cup. Afterwards, he scored three goals in three appearances, including a delightful chip in the final against Paris Saint-Germain, to guide his new club to a trophy.

Jamie O’Hara described Pedro as a “world-class” signing following a remarkable impact for the Blues.

Of course, the real test will come in the new season when the Brazilian attacker tries to shine on a weekly basis. Based off his star individual quality and the way he suits Maresca’s system, we think he will only go from strength to strength.

Alan Shearer massively rates Pedro joining Chelsea, describing it as a “clever” addition. When we look at the transfer business across the rest of the Premier League this summer, we’re struggling to find many more suitable or impressive signings than Chelsea’s new No.20.

Cole Palmer is the new benchmark at Chelsea

It’s going to take something remarkable for someone to dethrone Palmer as Chelsea’s most recent best signing.

During two campaigns with the Blues, 23-year-old attacking midfielder has been truly remarkable.

Cole Palmer’s record at Chelsea

When we look at the potential impact of Pedro next season, we’re optimistic that the former Brighton attacker can hit the ground running in a similar way to Palmer in the 2023/24 season.

Pedro and Palmer already have a great understanding, which they’ve built up in such a short spell of time working together. On paper, the attacking pair could be absolutely lethal in the upcoming season, especially as they’re super intelligent footballers on the same wavelength.

While we think Estevao needs a bit of time to get up to the speed of things at Chelsea, Pedro looks tailor-made to become a star player immediately.
