Enzo Maresca could now look to hand £30m Chelsea player his first Premier League start vs Leicester City

While Chelsea have been pretty lucky with their injury and fitness record this season, it remains to be seen if that is still the case after the current international break.

The Blues have already seen Romeo Lavia return to the club early after being forced to withdraw from national team duty with Belgium.

Chelsea will likely be frustrated with Lavia picking up an injury, after it was clear they were managing his return from a long-term injury very well.

There could be a number of issues in the middle of the park for Chelsea, with their South American pair Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez not able to join up with training until 48 hours before they are back in action against Leicester City.

Enzo Maresca could be forced to look deeper into his squad as he looks to name his first side back after the international break, and this could be of benefit to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall could be handed first Chelsea Premier League start

One of the manager’s favourite players at his former side, the Englishman is yet to start in the Premier League since his £30m move to Stamford Bridge.

Many have been left wondering why Chelsea signed Dewsbury-Hall, with it looking like he is way down the pecking order already.

There would perhaps be no better time for him to feature for the Blues in the Premier League than against this weekend’s opponents, with them being his former club, Leicester.

Dewsbury-Hall won’t celebrate if he scores on Saturday

Dewsbury-Hall has already stated he won’t celebrate if he scored against Leicester, however at this stage he will likely just be looking for minutes that have been very hard to come by this season.

Caicedo has proven himself to be crucial to the Chelsea side, starting every single Premier League game this season.

There will no doubt be hope still that he is okay to feature at the weekend despite representing Ecuador late in the international break.
