Chelsea’s 2-1 win against West Ham United on Monday night was a big game for Filip Jorgensen.
Since joining Chelsea from Villarreal last summer, Filip Jorgensen has not been given too many opportunities in the Premier League this season.
However, after a couple of very costly mistakes by Robert Sanchez, Enzo Maresca decided to give him a chance in Monday’s London derby.
So, how did the 22-year-old perform and should Sanchez now be worried about his place in the team?

Filip Jorgensen’s stats for Chelsea in win vs West Ham
Jorgensen’s kicking was not amazing. The goalkeeper had a pass success rate of 76%, while he only completed one of the eight long balls he attempted.
Jorgensen made one error that led to a shot as well, but unlike his rival Sanchez, he was not punished for it.
His shot-stopping, though, was what it needed to be. The Denmark U21 international made four saves, with three coming inside of the box.
Jorgensen played it quite safe, not making any run outs during his time on the pitch. Keepers need to sweep in this day and age of football, but after some of the howlers that Sanchez has had this season, Chelsea supporters would have been glad to have seen Jorgensen remain on his line.
| Filip Jorgensen vs West Ham | Total |
| Minutes | 90 |
| Saves | 4 |
| Saves from inside the box | 3 |
| Runs out | 0 |
| Error led to shot | 1 |
| Accurate passes | 22 |
| Pass success rate | 76% |
| Long balls (accurate) | 8 (1) |
All in all, Jorgensen was not perfect, but he was a safe pair of hands at Stamford Bridge on Monday. Chelsea have a lot of belief in Jorgensen, and there were times in the game you could see why.

Should Filip Jorgensen remain in goal for Chelsea?
For the time being, yes. Sanchez has simply made too many mistakes this season, mistakes that have cost Chelsea.
Jorgensen has not had too many chances under Maresca, but when the former Villarreal man has played he has usually impressed.
Sanchez is not a bad shot-stopper. He has the third-highest save percentage (76.3%) in the Premier League, according to FBref.
But what the 27-year-old is right now is a liability, something Chelsea cannot afford to have in their team as they try to qualify for the Champions League.
