Chelsea are reportedly having second thoughts about one of the signings which originally looked certain to go ahead at the end of the season.
The Blues were expected to complete the permanent signing of Jadon Sancho as part of the obligation to buy him at the end of his current loan from Manchester United.
After an electric start to his Stamford Bridge career, things have dropped off drastically for the winger despite him being a regular in the starting side in the absence of Mykhailo Mudryk.
Sancho has admitted frustration at his own form, with his current run of not scoring a goal being near the 20 game mark.
There has even been talk of Chelsea committing to the obligation and then selling Sancho this summer, with there still plenty of interest in the winger from the Bundesliga.

Chelsea must opt out of signing Jadon Sancho permanently
It has recently been revealed by The Athletic that Chelsea must pay a fee of £5m to opt out of the permanent addition at the end of the season.
The figure turned out to be far lower than expected. It had originally been reported that it would cost Chelsea most of the £25m obligation to not sign Sancho.
It should now be one of the easiest decisions Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali make at Stamford Bridge to not sign the winger on a permanent deal, and instead turn their attention to other options when the transfer window opens at the end of the season.
The Blues will already be welcoming Estevao Willian to play in attack next season, and the Brazilian is expected to be a first team option upon his arrival.
There are plenty of other names who have been floating around for the past few transfer windows too who could be signed to replace Sancho.

Chelsea’s potential Jadon Sancho replacements
While the refusal to pay the obligation may sour relations somewhat with United, that could quickly change if the Blues pick up their interest again in Alejandro Garnacho, after heavy links to the Argentine during the January transfer window.
Chelsea are also huge fans of Rafael Leao, and have been tracking him for a number of seasons now.
It is believed Leao is no longer untouchable at AC Milan, making him a realistic option should the Blues decide they need a new left-sided attacker.
There is also interest in the likes of Jamie Gittens and Nico Williams, both players who could move for substantial fees to the Premier League at the end of the season.
The punt on Sancho made a lot of sense from the Blues on deadline day of the summer window, however admitting when a decision was wrong is huge, and is exactly what they should do in this scenario.
