Reports have already begun to surface regarding who Mauricio Pochettino is looking to sign when the transfer window opens again in January.
There is the glaring need for a striker to come to Stamford Bridge and try and sort out the goal issue that has plagued them for more than a year now.
Victor Osimhen is the name that is consistently mentioned at the top of the list for any potential player to come in and make an instant impact up top.
However, the recent reports suggest that it is not the only position Pochettino wants to strengthen.
It has been claimed that the manager is looking for a midfielder to bolster his options.
Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo have both become starters, although there are some expecting a bit more from both players who cost more than £100m.
New midfielder makes no sense
Rotation has not been particularly easy to come by for the two players in the middle of the park, with injuries impacting them.
One big player who has not been able to feature as of yet is Romeo Lavia. He joined for big money in the summer alongside Caicedo.
He is reportedly close to making his return, with plenty excited about the prospects of him becoming a regular in the Chelsea side.
This is why it looks slightly strange that the manager is looking to strengthen here, especially taking into account some of the young stars that are looking to breakthrough in the role.
Lesley Ugochukwu has begun to make appearances for the side, with him not being loaned out as expected before the summer window shut.
The likes of Andrey Santos and Cesare Casadei were also signed in the last year or so with the intention of them breaking through into the side in the coming years, and making another addition here would surely be a backwards step in the process.
