Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is convinced that one Chelsea youngster is going to be a crucial player for his club.

He took to Twitter to state that the manager believes that Romeo Lavia is going to be a key player for the Blues in the coming years.

Lavia is so far yet to feature for his new club after making the big-money move over the summer.

There was a lot of excitement over the prospect of the teenager linking up with fellow new signing Moises Caicedo over the summer.

The Ecuadorian’s impact on his new side is clear to see already, with them being destroyed in the middle of the park when he didn’t start last week against Newcastle.

Some of the hype regarding Lavia has returned again after he has been spotted back in training in recent days, preparing for his debut for the Blues.

Pochettino huge fan of Lavia

Romano has claimed that the manager, as well as everyone at the club, are convinced Lavia is going to be a big star.

He said: “Roméo Lavia, involved in training ahead of Brighton game as Chelsea confirm.

“Pochettino, coaching staff and club all convinced about Roméo as present and future key player.”

Considering how the boss slowly reintroduced Reece James to the side following his own injury problems, it is likely that the midfielder will not be thrown straight into the starting side when he is ready.

However, there is a lot of confidence that he can become a regular starter in the side when he does get going, and the fact that he is so young suggests that the Blues are going to be really excited over what’s to come.
