A lot of Chelsea fans will be disappointed that the transfer window is now closed.
For once, Chelsea were not too busy in the market, with Mathis Amougou their only signing of the winter.
An announcement has not been made yet, but Amougou has agreed to join Chelsea in a £12.5m deal to give the Blues’ midfield a boost following Romeo Lavia’s injury.
One player who should be delighted with the January transfer window‘s closure, though, is Nicolas Jackson.

Enzo Maresca would have wanted competition for Nicolas Jackson
Jackson started the Premier League season tremendously, scoring four goals in his first five games.
The striker did not stop there, however, and eventually took his tally to nine before the start of the new year.
But from around that period to now, Jackson has been very poor. In his last eight outings, the 23-year-old has failed to score a single goal.
During the transfer window, Chelsea were linked with more than one centre-forward, and you cannot help but feel that Enzo Maresca at least thought about the possibility of upgrading on Jackson or bringing in someone who could provide him with a bit more competition.
Christopher Nkunku is at the club, but the Frenchman has not really been able to challenge his teammate for his spot in the side. Nkunku had interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich; however, a transfer to either outfit did not materialise in the end.

Which strikers were Chelsea linked with during the January transfer window?
One centre-forward who was heavily linked to Chelsea was Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
It was reported that Chelsea even held talks with Ipswich about signing Delap. Given his importance to Kieran McKenna’s side and where they find themselves in the table, though, a transfer always looked unlikely.
The Blues were also thought to have had an interest in Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson, but he joined West Ham United on loan instead.
The above were just a couple of names and after Jackson’s recent struggles, you would expect Chelsea to eventually buy a new centre-forward.
