Romeo Lavia returns, Chelsea make Conference League quarter-finals and £45m star obliterates Arsenal in Enzo Maresca’s dream March

Chelsea ended February on a positive note, and Enzo Maresca will now be hoping for a perfect March to get his side’s season back on track.

While Chelsea were able to beat Southampton 4-0 last week, February was a really disappointing month for them.

Maresca‘s side lost back-to-back games against Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, while the latter also knocked them out of the FA Cup.

Hopefully, March goes much better and there are already signs that it will. Benoit Badiashile has just been spotted in training, for example. If they can get him and some of their other injured players back, it could end up being a good month for Maresca. With that in mind, here is what Maresca’s dream March could look like.

Romeo Lavia available again

Like Badiashile, Romeo Lavia has also been out with an injury. Maresca gave a positive update on Lavia in February, but the midfielder is still nowhere to be seen.

If that changes any time soon, then the Chelsea manager will be delighted. When Lavia has played, he has brought a lot to the Blues’ midfield.

Paul Merson thinks Chelsea are missing Lavia right now. The way he receives the ball and escapes the opposition press, the Arsenal legend is not wrong.

The Blues are expected to win the competition this season, and eliminating Copenhagen and reaching the quarter-finals will set them well on the path to doing so.

Cole Palmer destroys Arsenal

Cole Palmer has not been at his best lately, failing to score in his last six Premier League outings.

Former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness has leaped to Palmer’s defence amid criticism, which has largely come from rival supporters.

It is why Maresca and Chelsea fans would surely love for Palmer to tear Arsenal apart later this month and remind everyone of his ability.

Whatever happens, for £45m, the England international has been a terrific signing for Chelsea. Maresca will now be hoping that he can help the Blues to have a bright March.
