It is not difficult to see who will be taking the majority of the blame for Chelsea’s recent defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Filip Jorgensen’s nightmare moment late on saw a Marco Asensio shot slip through his fingers, and see the Blues’ 1-0 advantage from earlier on turn into a 2-1 defeat.
Chelsea fans slammed Jorgensen after the game. They are clearly sick of seeing whoever is in goal making important errors in matches.
Enzo Maresca made Jorgensen the number one goalkeeper a few weeks ago, however the decision seems to have not paid off after losing confidence in Robert Sanchez.
It has to be said that the Dane had performed well until the error late on, making a number of big saves to deny Villa.

Malo Gusto deserves blame for Chelsea loss to Aston Villa
While Jorgensen is the easy person to blame, Chelsea fans should be equally disappointed with the performance of Malo Gusto at right-back at Villa Park.
The Frenchman was perhaps a surprise inclusion in the team after Reece James was also named a starter.
James played in midfield for Chelsea, giving Gusto the chance to feature as the attacking full-back he had starred as last season.
However, the 21-year-old put in a poor display, and was at fault for the opening goal after losing Marcus Rashford at the back post from a cross.
| Malo Gusto vs Aston Villa | Total |
| Minutes | 90 |
| Errors led to goal | 1 |
| Successful dribbles | 0/2 |
| Tackles won | 2/4 |
| Dribbled past | 2 |
| Accurate crosses | 0/2 |
Maresca described Gusto as ‘important’ before the game, however he showed that he is way off the pace again this season, as he struggles to comes to terms with the new role he is being asked to play at Chelsea.
There has been concern all season about Gusto’s ability to invert into midfield or form a back three, however the excuses were not there on Saturday night as he was given the task of playing in his preferred role. He just didn’t take his chance to impress.

Maresca’s bizarre treatment of Josh Acheampong
With James picking up a role in the middle of the park, the other obvious option for minutes on the right of defence is Josh Acheampong.
Romeo Lavia recently tipped Acheampong for big things in the game, although he has not been given the chance to feature much of late.
After a couple of impressive performances in the Premier League, Maresca made the bizarre decision to drop Acheampong, with him not featuring since.
With the game against Southampton offering Chelsea the best chance at getting back to winning ways, it also offers a chance for the academy graduate to return to the first team squad.
