Enzo Maresca threw Trevoh Chalobah straight into the action earlier as Chelsea hosted Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.
Trevoh Chalobah was making his first appearance for Chelsea this season following his return from Crystal Palace.
The central defender joined Palace on loan last summer but was recalled after injuries to Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile.
Maresca reportedly told Chalobah that he would get minutes just before his return to west London, and that proved to be the case against Wolves.

Alan Smith impressed with Trevoh Chalobah’s tackle
Chelsea dominated the first half of their Premier League encounter versus Wolves until the last 10 minutes.
Robert Sanchez did not cover himself in glory after a poor bit of goalkeeping resulted in Matt Doherty scoring and cancelling Tosin Adarabioyo’s opener to make it 1-1.
Chalobah, on the other hand, managed to do himself much justice. There was one tackle early in the game that the 25-year-old made which impressed Alan Smith.
Commentating on the match for Sky Sports (20/12/2025 at 20:06), the Arsenal legend said: “What a fine tackle that! What a good start he’s made, Chalobah, using one of those long legs to really good effect. [Jorgen Strand] Larsen’s got long legs himself, but that was beautifully timed.”
Smith later named Chalobah as his man of the match and said: “The man that was brought back from Crystal Palace, Trevoh Chalobah. When he left Stamford Bridge, he was training with the reserves and he’s come back into the team tonight and done ever so well.”
While it has not taken him long to show his worth, it is thought that Chelsea would still be willing to sell Chalobah as early as this month.

Trevoh Chalobah’s performance spells the end for Chelsea teammate
Chalobah coming back to Chelsea and performing well against Wolves, who have some top attacking players, has put the nail in Axel Disasi‘s coffin.
Disasi already looked to be heading for the exit door before today, and a departure now looks even more likely.
Atalanta have recently been linked with Disasi, who has only managed to make four starts in the Premier League this season.
After some of his performances this term, Chelsea supporters will not have too many complaints. And when you consider how Chalobah performed earlier and during his loan spell at Palace, it probably should have been the Frenchman Chelsea offloaded last summer.
