Chelsea’s attention will now be focused on their Premier League opener against Manchester City next weekend after they wrapped up pre-season on Sunday with a 1-1 draw with Inter Milan.
There were lots of interesting performances from Chelsea players against the Italian giants, including from summer signing Renato Veiga. In fact, he’s got many supporters on social media now discussing him.
The Blues finished their sixth match of a long pre-season by drawing at home to Inter, with Lesley Ugochukwu’s late equaliser cancelling out Marc Thuram’s goal for the visitors.
It was a memorable match for fans inside Stamford Bridge, who got to see Pedro Neto announced on the pitch at half-time as the club’s newest signing. Speaking via Chelsea’s official website about the transfer, Enzo Maresca shared his excitement on the Neto deal.

A selection of Chelsea fans on X loved what they saw from Veiga during his pre-season performance against Inter. In particular, many were pointing out what a specimen he is on the pitch. At the age of 21, he’s a 6ft 3in powerhouse with a real imposing presence.
Veiga, who joined the Blues this summer from Basel, has been with the first-team squad all summer. He came off the bench in two of the team’s five friendly matches on their United States tour.
The versatile youngster replaced Marc Cucurella at left-back against Inter at half-time and put in an eye-catching display for 45 minutes, which has really excited the fanbase.

The fact that he looks such a physically imposing figure should help him settle to life in the Premier League, but let’s wait and see how Maresca decides to use him.
