Chelsea’s frustrating run of form extended this weekend by dropping more points away at Crystal Palace.
Chelsea only have two points from their last four games in the Premier League after Saturday afternoon’s 1-1 draw against Palace.
The Blues went ahead through Cole Palmer’s first-half goal, scoring for the 13th time in the league this season. Jadon Sancho’s provided a magical assist for Palmer’s goal, but it wasn’t enough to earn a win on the road.
Instead, Palace centre-forward Jean-Philippe Mateta tapped in an equaliser in the 82nd minute for the home side at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea fans react to Jadon Sancho performance vs Crystal Palace
Chelsea supporters were in agreement that Jadon Sancho was their best performer during the disappointing draw at Palace.
The 24-year-old was certainly an offensive threat on the wing, creating his side’s only goal after an excellent bit of skill and dribbling. He was substituted off in the 86th minute when the visitors were pressing for a late winner, though.
Here are many Blues fans on X praising Sancho’s individual contribution this weekend, with some of them questioning the “strange” decision to substitute him.
One fan wrote: “Sancho making a MOTM claim.”
“Jadon Sancho’s been the best player on the pitch by a mile,” another claimed.
One supporter posted: “Sancho’s best game in a Chelsea shirt.”
“Taking off Sancho, our MOTM, is another strange call from the manager,” another said.
Another added: “Why would you take Sancho off? That’s our most creative player today.”
Enzo Maresca shouldn’t have subbed off Jadon Sancho
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is starting to make a few tactical decisions that deserve scrutiny, including removing Sancho when the side were pushing for a late win.
During today’s match at Palace, Sancho was probably his side’s greatest offensive threat. As seen for the goal, he’s got the individual flair and ability to create something out of nothing. It’s not like his replacement Noni Madueke was left with much time to get a feel for the game, too.
Maresca is a big admirer of Sancho’s game, which is why he’s a regular starter in the league. However, it did seem odd to remove him late on, especially when Pedro Neto provided less of a threat on the opposite wing.
FOTMOB ratings ranked Sancho as Chelsea’s best performer against Palace (7.7) to underline the fact that he should’ve been on the pitch to the end.
