Chelsea take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium tonight, and it is fair to say that some Blues supporters are not happy about one decision Enzo Maresca has made heading into the game.

Chelsea have a few injury problems right now, with Axel Disasi coming in for Malo Gusto at right-back.

Romeo Lavia is also out, while Enzo Fernandez is absent for the Bournemouth match as well. Renato Veiga starts in midfield as a result.

However, there is no room for Carney Chukwuemeka. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea were open to selling Chukwuemeka during the summer transfer window.

Chelsea fans on Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei

While Chukwuemeka was left out of Chelsea’s matchday squad for their trip to Bournemouth, Cesare Casadei was included.

It is a decision that has stunned some supporters, who took to social media to express their shock and disapproval.

One Chelsea fan on X said: “Oh, Chukwuemeka out of the squad in place of Casadei is criminal.”

Another said: “Casadei over Carney is nasty still.”

And finally, one Chelsea supporter posted: “Casadei making the squad over Carney is weird to say the least.”

Chukwuemeka is yet to feature for Chelsea this season and was only able to make nine appearances in the Premier League last term.

As for Casadei, the 21-year-old has also been on the periphery at Stamford Bridge. Napoli were interested in Casadei, but Romelu Lukaku was the only player they ended up signing from Chelsea during the summer.

Carney Chukwuemeka should consider leaving Chelsea in January

If Chukwuemeka cannot even make the bench when the likes of Fernandez and Lavia are out, then you have to wonder when he will.

Outside of the Conference League, the 20-year-old is unlikely to get too many chances at Chelsea this season.

And, as of now, Maresca has shown that he prefers Casadei. Ultimately, then, Chukwuemeka should be thinking about his future at the club, if he is not already.

There is a while to go before the January transfer window opens, but in terms of potential destinations, Chukwuemeka was linked to Manchester United at the end of August. Perhaps, then, the Red Devils could come in for him.
