Pedro Neto started for Chelsea on the left in the Blues’ London derby against Arsenal earlier.
Pedro Neto almost helped Chelsea to score in the first half after putting a delicious ball into the box.
However, Malo Gusto headed straight over, despite only being a few yards away from the goal, with that being the Blues’ best chance in the first 45 minutes of the game.
After picking up some bad injuries in recent seasons, Neto says he now feels “really good”.

Gary Neville wants to see more from Pedro Neto at Chelsea
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville thinks Neto is a good player, describing him as a “fantastic little winger”.
And it was, of course, the 24-year-old who scored Chelsea’s equaliser against Arsenal. However, Neville feels that he can play it a bit safe at times and needs to have more confidence in himself.
Commentating on the game for Sky Sports (10/11/2024 at 16:56), Neville said: “He is a fantastic little winger, Neto, but sometimes I just look at him and think, I wish you were more confident, I wish you had more belief, just went at players. They would be frightened to death of you.
“It seems sometimes he comes back and passes and makes it easy for the opposition full-back.”
Pedro Neto shows versatility against Arsenal
While Neto did start Chelsea’s 1-1 draw on the left, the Portuguese was moved to the right by Enzo Maresca in the second half.
Neto scored from a more central position, but ultimately the former Wolverhampton Wanderers man showed his versatility this afternoon and why he should prove to be a very good signing for Chelsea.
Eventually, Neto could replace Noni Madueke on the right, with Jadon Sancho starting on the left again when the 24-year-old returns from the small injury that he has picked up.
If Neto does lack confidence at times as Neville has suggested, Chelsea fans will be hoping that his excellent strike against Mikel Arteta’s side can give him a real boost.
After the international break, Chelsea face Maresca’s former side Leicester City. It is a game that you would expect Neto to start after his latest display.
Former Chelsea player Andy Townsend was amazed by Neto’s strike, which is probably one of Chelsea’s goals of the season so far.
