How the Ukrainian fans reacted to Mykhailo Mudryk’s display vs Georgia

Chelsea fans have been waiting a very long time for Mykhailo Mudryk to come good, with his only decent performances coming on the international stage for Ukraine.

Enzo Maresca has been very patient with Mykhailo Mudryk, still giving him minutes to prove himself despite showing very little.

Chelsea have the likes of Noni Madueke, Cole Palmer and Jadon Sancho all nailing down starting spots at the moment, which has made it impossible for other players to break in.

Marseille already have their eyes on Mudryk ahead of a potential January move, with regular football possibly the best thing for the winger.

However, he put in a rather surprising performance for Ukraine last night against Georgia, which led to an interesting response from Ukrainian fans.

Mudryk is yet to get off the mark on the goals front this season for Chelsea, with three assists to his name in all competitions.

However, he bagged himself a quite remarkable goal for Ukraine last night, which saw him take on few defenders and find the corner from range.

Interestingly, this was the only goal of the game and Ukrainian fans were pleased with what they saw.

Tribuna ran a fan vote on who the ‘Lion of the Match’ was for Ukraine, and 55% of the vote went to Mykhailo Mudryk.

It’s so frustrating to see Mykhailo Mudryk perform so well on the international stage and then lose all quality and composure when it comes to Chelsea.

Oleksandr Zinchenko replaced him in the 86th minute. The winger scored one goal, had 42 touches, a passing accuracy of 72%, made one key pass, two of his five crosses, had two shots on target, one out of two successful dribbles, won eight duels, was fouled four times, made three tackles and had one block.

This is probably the most well-rounded performance from Mudryk all season.

He may still get a chance to prove himself, as Fabrizio Romano claims Mudryk doesn’t want to leave.
