Fabrizio Romano claims £100k-a-week Chelsea player doesn’t want to leave Stamford Bridge

Chelsea may eventually have to sell an attacker or two, with the Blues stacked in that area.

Before the summer transfer window, Chelsea had Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk and Raheem Sterling all in their ranks.

Sterling is no longer at Stamford Bridge for the time being after joining Arsenal on loan, but the Blues signed Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix and Pedro Neto before the market closed.

There are a lot of attacking players in the squad; not everyone is going to play. For now, though, one Chelsea star is not considering leaving the club despite exit rumours.

Mykhailo Mudryk not eyeing Chelsea exit

Mudryk is competing against Sancho for a spot in the Chelsea team and has only started one game in the Premier League this season.

It has been claimed that Chelsea could offer Mudryk to Inter Milan as part of a swap deal for Lautaro Martinez, while there have also been reports about the winger being keen to leave west London.

However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says Mudryk is not thinking about a Chelsea departure at this moment in time.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, he said: “There’s absolutely zero truth in the story that Mykhailo Mudryk wants to leave Chelsea. Mudryk has not made any decision to leave, and there are no talks taking place with any club.

“Full focus remains on Chelsea and on doing his best under Maresca, while Chelsea also hope to see him at his best soon. So there’s really nothing in this ‘story’ — I don’t even know where this is coming from to be fair.”

Will Mykhailo Mudryk get his second Premier League start against West Ham United?

Chelsea travel to the London Stadium later to take on West Ham United. Mudryk will be desperate to start after being named on the bench in three out of the Blues’ first four Premier League fixtures this season.

However, after the impact that Sancho made against Bournemouth last weekend, it would be a surprise if Mudryk was named in Maresca‘s first XI.

Sancho came on in the second half at the Vitality Stadium to set up the winning goal. “His performance was great,” were the words of David Seaman after watching the 24-year-old.

For now, then, it looks like Mudryk’s starts are going to come in the Conference League. And if the Ukraine international, who earns £100,000-a-week (Spotrac) at Stamford Bridge, can perform in that competition, then maybe Maresca will start giving him opportunities in the Premier League.
