Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino was spotted getting particularly angry with Conor Gallagher during today’s match against Fulham.
Thankfully, it was a happy Saturday for the Blues as they beat rivals Fulham 1-0 in the Premier League fixture.
Cole Palmer scored a penalty just before half-time to earn the hosts all three points at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea temporarily moved up to eighth in the league table with this afternoon’s success, so perhaps a push for the European spots isn’t completely out of the question for the second half of the season.
Alex Howell, who’s a journalist for the BBC, explained that Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino was fuming with Conor Gallagher late in the first-half of the Fulham clash.
Apparently, the Argentine coach was raging on the touchline after the 23-year-old midfielder rejected a forward pass in one moment.
Howell posted on X: “Pochettino was very animated and frustrated when Conor Gallagher turned backwards instead of playing the ball forwards. You could hear him shouting from the media area.”

We often feel like this Chelsea side can play more progressive passes and be quicker when they’re building up attacks.
There was certainly a frustrated mood within Stamford Bridge as the teams prepared to end the first period goalless, but Palmer released the tension with his goal in stoppage time.
For Gallagher, he’s just the unfortunate player to grab the manager’s attention on the touchline. We suspect he wasn’t the only guilty one, though!
Speaking via TNT Sports 1 (2:32pm, 13 January), Joe Cole claimed that Gallagher was “outstanding” during his performance at home to Fulham.
Our feeling is that the box-to-box midfielder can be a bit cuter in possession, but he offers so much to this inconsistent team with everything h does off the ball.
