Tosin Adarabioyo shares the two positives Chelsea can take from Brentford draw despite what fans were chanting

Tosin Adarabioyo does not think Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Brentford is the end of the world.

With the race for Champions League qualification extremely tight, the Blues would not have wanted to drop points.

However, they did, and fans were left really frustrated with the performance. Chelsea supporters tore Christopher Nkunku apart, for example, after his underwhelming display.

Adarabioyo, though, has managed to find a couple of positives from the west London derby despite it being a really dull affair.

Tosin Adarabioyo on point and clean sheet

With Wesley Fofana injured and Enzo Maresca wanting to give Levi Colwill a rest, Adarabioyo got the nod to start in central defence.

Adarabioyo helped Chelsea to keep a clean sheet and take one point back to Stamford Bridge, and the 27-year-old thinks those are a couple of positives that the team can be pleased with.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website after the game, he said: “It’s a tough ground to come to, so to come away with a clean sheet and a point is a positive we can take.

“They’re an end-to-end team, they get 11 men behind the ball and they attack fast, but we dealt with it well. We just didn’t manage to score at the other end.”

It has been claimed that Todd Boehly actually opposed Chelsea signing Adarabioyo, but he has proven to be a smart addition to Maresca’s squad.

He cost nothing but has brought experience and leadership to Chelsea, something that their young dressing room currently lacks.

His performances have not been bad either, with the former Fulham man playing his part in the Blues returning to the Bridge with something on Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea fans told team to attack during west London derby

While Adarabioyo may have been satisfied with Chelsea’s performance at the Gtech Community Stadium, some supporters were definitely not.

Chelsea fans chanted “attack, attack, attack” during the game, clearly not happy with what they were seeing from the team going forward.

Defensively, though, Brentford are a very good side, making themselves compact in the most frustrating of low blocks. There was perhaps not much more Chelsea could do, especially when their two best attackers, Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson, both started on the bench.

With that approach, Chelsea were always going to be in for a tough afternoon at their rivals’ place.
