There is plenty of excitement to see the starting XI that is named for Chelsea when they return to Premier League action this weekend against Manchester City.

The game will see new manager Enzo Maresca coaching his first game in the Premier League, with tests not coming too much harder than the Champions.

The pre-season tour of the United States saw the results not always go their way, however a number of players impressed on an individual level.

One of those is Noni Madueke, who will no doubt be looking for a start on Sunday after his impressive pre-season campaign.

Another attacker who was handed plenty of opportunities in pre-season is Mykhialo Mudryk.

Mykhailo Mudryk thinks Maresca can get the best out of him

Maresca was spotted giving plenty of instructions his way during the fixtures, as he looks to finally unlock the potential many Chelsea fans knows he has.

The Ukrainian actually believes the new boss is the man to do that too, with him telling Chelsea’s official website that he believes the new style of play will bring the best out of him.

He said: “I’m enjoying it because our playing style is very similar to what everyone, and me as well, wants to play. We can show our quality under his coaching.

“His style of play will help me, for sure. How we are going to play will be really interesting this season and I hope we will be so successful. Let’s trust the process and then enjoy the games.”

Pedro Neto joins Chelsea

Mudryk has more competition for minutes coming his way in the form of Pedro Neto, who was introduced at Stamford Bridge at half-time of their final friendly against Inter Milan.

The Portuguese star has excelled on both wings in the past, with that being seen as a real asset when it comes to why the Blues made a move to sign him.

It feels like it is now or never for Mudryk to establish himself as a genuine option for Chelsea, before they look another direction for the long-term future.
