There is a real element of positivity about what is going on at Chelsea since the new season began.

Enzo Maresca has done a very good job on the pitch so far, however has been equally as impressive in managing a large squad packed with players good enough to start games.

The top four, where Chelsea currently sit, is a position they didn’t find themselves in at all under Mauricio Pochettino, with them finishing sixth in the league and qualifying for the Conference League.

There were a number of players who were reportedly gutted when the decision was made for the Blues to fire the Argentine after just one season in charge of the club.

However, it doesn’t seem as if this was the case for everyone, with one of those being Cesare Casadei.

Cesare Casadei didn’t enjoy Chelsea under Mauricio Pochettino

The Italian told TuttoSport that he was not happy last season after being recalled from his loan at Maresca’s Leicester City.

He said: ”And with Pochettino it was quite difficult for me. I only played bits and pieces, 11 appearances but a total of just 71 minutes on the pitch, at most in the last quarter of an hour and above all as substitutes for 1′, 4′, 5′, 8’… I wasn’t very happy. Everyone would like to play a bit more.”

Casadei starting ahead of Carney Chukwuemeka

Casadei has been picking up starts in the middle of the park for Chelsea in both the Conference League and Carabao Cup so far this season, with him looking assured on the ball and also a presence in the air.

He has been the recipient of these minutes ahead of Carney Chukwuemeka, with some fans showing frustration at the treatment of the Englishman.

It looks as if the plan is for him to eventually make the move to another side, with there being simply too many quality players in his position already at the club.
