One Chelsea player has now seen his value double in the time he has been at Stamford Bridge.

After joining on deadline day last summer, Cole Palmer has seen his value skyrocket according to figures posted by the CIES Football Observatory.

Palmer has arguably been Chelsea’s best performer of the season so far, after being the last first team player to join the club.

He currently sits as the club’s top scorer in all competitions, and his individual big performances have seen some memorable moments for Chelsea fans this season.

Recently, his brace at Stamford Bridge in the EFL Cup semi-final second leg helped them book their place in the final which takes place on Sunday against Liverpool at Wembley.

He is obviously going to be one of the first names on the teamsheet for Mauricio Pochettino, and it looks as if his performances have seen his value skyrocket.

Palmer worth more than Kane

After joining the club for an original fee of £40m, he is now valued at more than £85m.

While the doubling in value is impressive in itself, he is also now seen as worth more than one of the best players in world football.

Harry Kane has enjoyed a strong personal campaign in his first year away from England playing for Bayern Munich, however it currently looks as if he is going to struggle to win any trophies for his efforts.

Perhaps with that taken into account, his market value is rated lower than Palmer’s right now.

After being called up for the first time recently, the 21-year-old will be hoping that his performances at club level are enough for him to become a regular for Gareth Southgate and England.

With the European Championships this summer, it feels like Palmer can make a real impact on the international side if handed the chance to perform in Germany.
