Blues fans will actually see this is a good news though, given how crucial he has been to their side in recent months.

Moises Caicedo was always joining the club with pressure on his shoulders given the club-record fee Chelsea ended up paying Brighton to bring him in.

However, whether it has been noticed by pundits or not, Chelsea fans have recognised a real shift in displays to the point where he is easily one of the first names on the teamsheet.

He has formed a strong partnership with fellow big-money star Enzo Fernandez, who is also off representing his country on international duty.

Given the duo represent South American sides, their presence on international duty always leaves them coming back fatigued ahead of the return to domestic action.

This is why supporters will be thrilled with the fact that Caicedo did not feature at all for Ecuador in their first friendly of the break, where they beat Guatemala 2-0.

When Chelsea return to Premier League action with the match against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, it looks as if there is no room for error anymore if they want to qualify for European competition next season.

This is likely the crucial factor to Mauricio Pochettino keeping his job, with pressure on him in his role at the moment.

There is also the option of qualifying via the FA Cup, however that will likely mean beating both Manchester teams at Wembley before the end of the season.
