This has not been a good season for Chelsea for many reasons.
For example, they lost the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool at the end of February. Mauricio Pochettino‘s men are also nowhere near the Champions League places.
Chelsea have also had a lot of injury problems this term.
In fact, even some members of their squad who have been available to feature have had to play through some pain it seems.
Things have improved recently, with the Blues managing to beat Everton 6-0 on Monday, but the sooner this season finishes the better if you are a Chelsea fan.

Chelsea star playing through pain
Earlier this month, journalist Simon Phillips reported that goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was using pain injections earlier in the season to help him play through injury.
However, it does not look like he is the only one.
Phillips has claimed on Substack that Enzo Fernandez, who is Chelsea’s second-most expensive signing ever, has been doing the same.
On the 23-year-old, the journalist wrote: “I reported last week that we heard Enzo’s injury was not a bad one, and it isn’t. But it is one that has been there and has been consistently bothering him.
“Enzo is another player who we understand has been playing through some pain this season and using pain killers before games. This is very common by the way.”
Enzo Fernandez overused this season
Pochettino has perhaps pushed Fernandez, but the Chelsea manager has not had too much choice.
The World Cup winner may be playing with a bit of pain; however, he has clearly still been fit enough to feature in games.
A couple of Chelsea’s other midfielders, Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu, have been sidelined entirely, so he has had to make a bit of a sacrifice.
That being said, Cesare Casadei was recalled from his loan spell at Leicester City and has barely been used, so maybe not everyone will be feeling sorry for Pochettino.
