It has been claimed that Chelsea have a dream target in mind to become their new manager.

According to The Byline, the Blues would absolutely love to have Ruben Amorim come in to replace the current boss if it was possible.

Pressure is again firmly on current manager Mauricio Pochettino after he saw his side defeated in the EFL Cup final in heartbreaking fashion.

The only goal from Virgil van Dijk came just minutes from the end of extra time, and seemed to be the breaking point for as far as a portion of Chelsea fans were concerned about the Argentine.

It has been reported since Sunday that some chiefs at the club are already scouring around their options ahead of potentially replacing Pochettino in the coming weeks or months.

One of the names who keeps cropping up as far as the role is concerned is Amorim, who is enjoying another very strong season in Portugal.

Amorim is Chelsea’s dream target

The impact he has had in the game at the very early stages of his career is clear to see, with him gaining praise from the likes of Mikel Arteta along the way.

The 39-year-old has already seen his side win it all in Portugal, and now they are beginning to make quite the impact in Europe too.

With him being desrcibed now as the club’s dream target, this could coincide with one player who they are particularly interested in signing at the end of this season.

Viktor Gyokeres has racked up the most goal involvements in Europe this season, and this has come under Amorim in Portugal and in Europe.

With it being claimed that the club are deperate to add some firepower to their side after another campaign where missed chances are going to define their performances, bringing him in would certainly upgrade the role at Stamford Bridge.
