Journalist Reon Boeringa has claimed that Chelsea transfer target Mohammed Kudus is today set to miss training with Ajax.

He took to Twitter to state that he is a ‘minor complaint’, which is why he won’t be involved in the outdoors session.

There have been strong links over the last two days suggesting that Chelsea are now the favourites to sign Kudus this summer.

This is after a number of Premier League sides, including Arsenal and Brighton, have reportedly declared their interest in the addition.

The versatile Ghanian obviously appeals to the Blues for his ability to play anywhere in attack, with them certainly lacking a player or two before the season gets underway.

Reports today have claimed that Chelsea are actually close to agreeing on personal terms with Kudus, with it then being down to agreeing a fee with the Dutch side.

Kudus skips training

It has previously been claimed that a total fee of around £40m will be enough for them to complete the deal this summer.

Their efforts may have just been handed a new boost too, with Boeringa claiming that the player is set to miss training today for unspecified reasons.

He said: “Steven Berghuis trains fully with the group. Silvano Vos and Kian Fitz-Jim partly individually. Mohammed Kudus is not on the field; inquiry shows that he has stayed indoors due to minor complaints.”

The signing is definitely the one the Blues should prioritize this summer, especially if the sale of Conor Gallagher does get completed.

This morning it was claimed that Chelsea have so far rejected a bid of £40m for his services, with them seemingly holding out for a bit more before reluctantly saying goodbye to the midfielder.
