Chelsea will no doubt be frustrated that they were not able to make it six wins in a row in all competitions today against Nottingham Forest.

The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge, with them not able to find a winner against their 10-men opponents.

Enzo Maresca is still able to boast that his side are unbeaten in the league since the opening day of the season, with their only defeat coming at the hands of Manchester City.

Chelsea fans will at least be impressed that their side were able to rescue a point. Looking at this fixture from last season will be proof that this was not the case before.

The goal was scored by Noni Madueke, who certainly had a point to prove when it came to holding down his place in the side.

Noni Madueke Chelsea’s ‘brightest spark’

BBC pundit Stephen Kelly thought that the winger was the brightest spark for Chelsea in the final game before the international break.

He said: “Noni Madueke has been the brightest spark for Chelsea all afternoon. He comes inside and fires it into the bottom corner.

“Palmer releases him straight away and you know when he comes inside he only has one thing on his mind. A wonderful strike.”

Madueke aims celebration at Enzo Maresca

Madueke headed straight for Maresca after finding the net, with him seeming to make a point to his manager in his celebrations.

He is looking over his shoulder at the strong performances of Pedro Neto, however seems to have done enough to prove that he should continue in the starting side for the time being.

Madueke has more than earned his call up for the England side this week, with him hoping to build on an assist on his debut for the Three Lions.

He will be alongside Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill in a strong core of Chelsea representitives.
