Ben Foster thinks ‘tremendous’ Chelsea player doesn’t get enough credit for how good he actually is

A lot of the hype surrounding what is currently going on at Chelsea tends to lead to the individual brilliance of Cole Palmer.

This is perhaps expected when a club has a player who is performing at a level on par with the best players in world football.

Chelsea fans were critical of Palmer’s low ranking in the Ballon d’Or awards, with him already expected to be far higher next time around.

It would be unfair to the other Chelsea players to not give them the credit they deserve though, with some of them lifting their game dramatically this season.

One of those is Nicolas Jackson, who already has six Premier League goals to his name this season.

Ben Foster says Nicolas Jackson isn’t getting enough credit

The striker had another great outing against Newcastle at the weekend. Dan Burn commented on how hard it was to defend Jackson.

Ben Foster has stated that the Senegal international is still not getting the credit he deserves for the consistent performances he is putting out there.

He said on the FozCast: “One player who never gets the love he should is Nicolas Jackson. Fair play to him, he’s doing the job. He’s putting the ball in the back of the net and he’s doing it on the regular.”

Nigel Reo-Coker thinks Jackson has ‘tremendous’ potential, and that is certainly beginning to be showed this season.

Jackson on par with best Premier League attackers

There are very few attackers in the Premier League who can match Jackson’s numbers for combined goals and assists this season.

Perhaps the biggest compliment he can be paid is that he has so far kept Christopher Nkunku out of the side completely, with him being forced to earn his minutes in the cup competitions.

The France international is finding the net for fun at the moment, and is likely to be named up front tonight when the Blues taken on Newcastle again in the Carabao Cup, with a place in the quarter-finals of the competition up for grabs.
