Chelsea fans on social media were absolutely blown away by Andreas Christensen’s rocket at the European Championships yesterday.

Christensen slammed home a screamer during Denmark’s 4-1 romp over Russia, his first goal of any kind since 2017.

It was a delightful evening all-round for the Danes, who qualified for the knockout stage in scintillating fashion.

Chelsea’s centre-back didn’t have a half bad night either.

Along with his thunderbolt that Thor would have been proud of, the 25-year-old was named star of the match for his comprehensive performance.

Blues fans went totally wild when they witnessed Christensen’s cracker for the first time.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

King Chris

Danish delight erupted throughout the stadium and the country when Christensen struck his shot from a good 30-yards.

If a statistician was to tell you the Blues defender hadn’t scored at all in 139 games up to that moment, you’d rip their hand off.

As it turns out, Christensen was the one ripping the Russia net off in Copenhagen.

He sent a message to his Stamford Bridge suitors that he is here to stay, amidst talk they wanted to trade him in for Achraf Hakimi.

Permitted Thomas Tuchel had been watching, he may want to think twice about selling a centre-half who can grab goals in that manner.

The Chelsea board might also want to consider offering Christensen a contract extension, something he is eager to receive.
