Enzo Maresca has only made limited changes to his side when taking part in Premier League matches this season.

Some players have featured in every game so far this season. Cole Palmer has been sensational all season, and left out of the Conference League squad in order to maintain his fitness.

Another position Maresca has remained loyal with is the goalkeeper, starting Robert Sanchez in every game so far.

This has been despite nerves and frustration inside Stamford Bridge whenever Sanchez is on the ball.

Chelsea hoping Filip Jorgensen progresses for more minutes

The Blues signed Filip Jorgensen over the summer for a fee of £20m, however so far he is yet to feature in the league.

His minutes have been limited to cup competitions, however Jorgensen has impressed in Europe in particular.

Graeme Bailey has exclusively told The Chelsea Chronicle that the club are hoping that he progresses to a point he can feature far more regularly.

He said: “The hope is that he [Jorgensen] will progress. I always thought he wasn’t a million miles off, and he looks alright in Europe when he is given the chance. They may look at him, but it wouldn’t surprise me next summer if they are in the market for a new one, but I don’t think we’ll see it in January.”

Chelsea a goalkeeper away from challenging?

Chelsea fans are certainly of the opinion that the goalkeeper is the position they have the least confidence in at the moment.

In fact, there could be an argument made that they are a top shot stopper away from making the move towards the upper echelons of the Premier League table.

Jorgensen is likely to start tomorrow night when the Blues return to action in the Carabao Cup against Newcastle United.

It will be the second time they meet Eddie Howe’s side in a week, after beating them at Stamford Bridge 2-1 on Sunday.
