Chelsea have confirmed this week that their star is training with the first-team squad despite a recent injury issue.

Many Chelsea players were called up by their countries during the international break, but there’s still been a core group of first teamers back at Cobham in training.

For example, summer signing Jadon Sancho has been working with his teammates and integrating into the Blues squad. Interestingly, journalist Simon Phillips reports via Substack that Sancho has been playing on the left wing in Chelsea training.

Cole Palmer in Chelsea training

Chelsea confirmed via their official website yesterday that Cole Palmer was among the players involved in Monday’s gym work and training session.

It’s going to be a huge boost to the entire fanbase to hear the 22-year-old’s working with the Blues squad after pulling out of the England camp during this September international break through injury.

Journalist Simon Phillips claimed via Substack last week that Palmer withdrew from the England camp because of a tight groin, so all parties agreed they didn’t want to aggravate the problem any further.

Now, Chelsea supporters will be delighted to see the attacking talisman training alongside his teammates at Cobham. We’ll wait and see if he’s ready to play this weekend versus Bournemouth.

A huge boost

Fans will patiently wait for the official team news before the weekend’s clash before getting too excited, but it’s encouraging to see Palmer on the grass with his teammates. For certain, he’s the one player in the squad we can’t afford to miss for a lengthy spell of time.

Speaking via his YouTube channel last month, Ben Foster described Palmer as “brilliant” and “incredible”.

In fairness, the Chelsea attacking midfielder has kicked off the new season with one goal and four assists already in three league matches.
