Chelsea considering move for ‘exceptional’ winger as well as Jamie Gittens this summer

Chelsea are running out of time in their pursuit to sign Jamie Gittens before the transfer window temporarily slams shut before ahead of the Club World Cup.

The Blues are very keen on signing another attacker following the confirmation that Liam Delap will be with the first team squad for the competition in the United States.

Chelsea have bid for Gittens before Tuesday’s deadline, however up to now there is no agreement between the two clubs about a deal.

The Blues have interest in a number of players in the wide position, with Alejandro Garnacho remaining on their radar after interest in January.

There has been a long-standing interest in Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa. The Norway international joined the club last summer following his breakthrough season at Club Brugge.

Chelsea attempted to hijack the deal for Nusa in the past, however have maintained interest despite his move to the Bundesliga.

Journalist Andreas Korssund has stated that the potential of the Blues moving for Nusa is one to keep an eye on throughout the transfer window, even with the signing of Gittens.

“Chelsea has maintained a long-standing interest in Antonio Nusa from RB Leipzig. Nothing concrete at the moment, but he could be a player to keep an eye on this summer for The Blues.

“To clarify: Nusa is a player Chelsea would be looking at in addition to Gittens, should they choose to pursue him. As it stands, he’s a player CFC likes and one to watch throughout the transfer window.”

Who is Antonio Nusa?

After making the move to Leipzig, Nusa enjoyed his best individual campaign in terms of goal involvements. This came despite not being a regular starter in Germany.

The Blues have previously made a bid to sign the winger that stunned even him. Nusa was surprised how much Chelsea offered to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

He has made the biggest impact so far on the international stage for Norway. Teammate Erling Haaland has described the youngster as ‘exceptional’ (NogoMania)

Even with the addition of Estevao Willian to their ranks, the club want to sign a number of attackers this summer, and Nusa could well be on that list before the final deadline in September.
