Chelsea are likely to look for some cut-price ways of strengthening their first team squad in the upcoming transfer window.

The Blues will be delighted with the impact Tosin Adarabioyo has had on the side since joining, with him coming in on a free transfer.

Not all cheap punts have worked out though. The loan signing of Jadon Sancho is currently seen as a failure, and Chelsea are considering paying to opt out of the obligation to sign him.

It has been the Englishman’s underwhelming performances that have contributed to the Blues looking to sign a new winger this summer, with some big names linked with the club.

Jamie Gittens is one player they have great admiration for, and the London club have recieved a boost in the fact Gittens has asked to leave Borussia Dortmund in the upcoming summer window.

Chelsea interested in Strasbourg winner Dilane Bakwa

More cost-friendly options in multiple positions could crop up from Strasbourg, another club under the BlueCo ownership which are in charge at Stamford Bridge.

One player who has been impressing in France this season is Dilane Bakwa. The winger is a big part of why Strasbourg are seriously threatening the big sides in Ligue 1.

The 22-year-old certainly fits the bill in terms of promising young players coming into the club, however there is interest in the Frenchman from other sides too.

According to Fussball Transfers, the Blues are eyeing a potential transfer for Bakwa ahead of the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt, meaning he would stay under the BlueCo banner.

Bakwa outperforming Cole Palmer

The France U21 star has been crucial to Strasbourg’s attack this season, contributing eight assists in Ligue 1 this season.

This amount is more than Cole Palmer has managed for Chelsea this season, with his numbers falling off a cliff in 2025 in front of goal.

Palmer is still creating chances for fun, and has certainly been unlucky that his numbers are not higher this season.

Bakwa would likely have some familiar faces alongside him in the Chelsea squad if he was to join, with current teammates Andrey Santos and Djordje Petrovic in contention for regular minutes next season.
