One of Chelsea’s most polarising players has just completed his two matches while on international duty.

Mykhailo Mudyrk is facing a race against time to prove that he can be part of the long-term future at Stamford Bridge, with appearances not coming too regularly this season.

The winger does have two assists in his last two starts, however Enzo Maresca is frequently cutting a frustrated figure at what he is doing on the pitch.

His push towards getting back into good form took another step forward as he scored and impressed greatly in Ukraine’s win earlier in the international break against Georgia.

Mudryk was back in the starting side against Czech Republic too, with his nation drawing the game 1-1.

Mudryk inconsistent again for Ukraine

Chelsea fans were quick to notice that his individual performance was not up to scratch, and hinted that his inconsistencies from club football were seeming to rear their head again.

One user said: “This is the inconsistency we’re talking about..”

Another added: “He lacks confidence, he needs to build on that.”

Celebrity Jersey Guy stated: “At the end of the day, I just hope Mudryk don’t turn out to be another Timo Werner for Chelsea with just speed as his only talent and lack finishing and proper decision making when the ball is at his reach.

“Because most of all these passes he did the wrong pass cos of bad decisions.”

Meanwhile, RuntownIOSWorld simply said: “Loan is waiting.”

Jadon Sancho ahead of Mudryk at Chelsea

Mudryk has struggled for regular minutes this season off the back of the strong performances of Jadon Sancho, who has just been named the signing of the summer so far.

Chelsea owner Behdad Eghbali is reportedly desperate for things to work out for Mudryk, with them putting a lot of effort into signing him in January 2023.

However, with Pedro Neto often being preferred first off the bench despite Maresca naming him as a right winger is a worrying sign, with confidence from the manager not seeming too high.

It remains to be seen if he will be given a chance to impress against league leaders Liverpool on Sunday.
