Of all the signings made by Chelsea over the summer, few came with the same excitement that followed Pedro Neto.

Signed out of nowhere to many from Wolves, Enzo Maresca has worked on building the winger’s fitness up after he had a long layoff due to injury.

So far the winger has seen his minutes come predominantly on the left of attack, with many at the club finding it very difficult to displace Noni Madueke from the starting side.

Chelsea fans have called for Neto’s position to change, with them seeing him as a far better outlet when featuring on the right of attack.

Enzo Maresca says Pedro Neto will play on the right for Chelsea

It looks as if they are about to get their wish. Maresca confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Chelsea see the Portugal international as a right-winger.

He said: “Hopefully I can clarify. As a left winger, we have Jadon and Misha. On the right, we have Noni and Pedro. As a 10 we have Cole and Joao. As a nine we have Christoph and Nicolas.”

The biggest concern many had about the deal to sign Neto over the summer was his injury record, however he has so far not been affected by that since moving to Stamford Bridge.

Maresca putting faith in Jadon Sancho

The boss has also seemingly put a lot of faith in Jadon Sancho already, after he made his debut off the bench last week against Bournemouth.

Replacing Neto, the England international combined with Christopher Nkunku for the only goal of the game late on.

It has been claimed in the past that Maresca is beginning to lose faith in Mykhailo Mudryk, with the winger needing a lot of instructions being sent his way when playing.

It was even reported that he could be next on the chopping block, with the Blues potentially looking to cash in on him when the transfer window opens again.
