Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho is heavily linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge this summer. However, Chelsea fans don’t want to sign him anymore for the same reason.

The Blues could add even more attacking firepower to their ranks if they secure a deal for Man Utd’s left-winger Alejandro Garnacho, 21, before the summer transfer window closes.

Garnacho has agreed personal terms with Chelsea, so the attention now turns towards them negotiating a deal with Man Utd. Interestingly, Chelsea think they can sign Garnacho for £40m, which could be great value for money in the current market.

Chelsea fans insist they don’t need Alejandro Garnacho after Jamie Gittens debut

On Friday night, Enzo Maresca’s side beat Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 in a pre-season friendly at Stamford Bridge. There were plenty of impressive individual performers, including 21-year-old winger Jamie Gittens on his first-ever Chelsea appearance.

After watching Gittens’ eye-catching cameo on the left wing against Leverkusen, Blues fans on X insist it would be pointless to add Garnacho to their squad.

One fan wrote: “Honestly we don’t need Garnacho when we’ve got Gittens who looks special.”

“Gittens looks good. We don’t need Garnacho,” another said.

One supporter posted: “After watching two minutes of Gittens’ cameo, I can say that we don’t need Garnacho.”

“Why does Chelsea need Garnacho when we have Gittens?” another commented.

Gittens, who joined the Blues from Borussia Dortmund this summer, has arrived with a lot of quality and potential.

The English wide man has the directness, acceleration and close control that makes him a nightmare for opposition full-backs. He’s been an important player in the German Bundesliga for the last few years at Dortmund, so can he now replicate that in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea believe Gittens can make an immediate imapct going into the new season. Therefore, Garnacho could have a tough job breaking into the Blues XI on the left wing if he does join the club.

Jamie Gittens vs Alejandro Garnacho

We could envisage both Gittens and Garnacho competing for the left wing spot next term, but it may require youngster Tyrique George to leave. Apparently, George wants to leave Chelsea amid interest from teams in Germany.

At the moment, Gittens and Garnacho have had pretty similar career paths at two giant clubs.

The advantage for Garnacho is that he’s proven he’s capable of performing in English football, but Chelsea fans already think they’ve seen enough from Gittens to suggest he can nail down a spot in the XI.
