While Chelsea fans were enduring a bleak weekend that saw them exit the FA Cup at the hands of Brighton, their sister club continued to make waves in Ligue 1.
Strasbourg picked up a 2-0 win over Montpellier, keeping their hopes alive at qualifying for European football for next season.
Of those who impressed on the pitch, Andrey Santos was the pick of the bunch as he starred yet again in the heart of midfield.

Chelsea fans predict Andrey Santos will be a starter next season
It has been a superb individual season for the Brazilian, who is currently in his second campaign with Strasbourg.
Santos was named in the U21 Team of the Season, and his performances since have only enhanced his status as one of the better youngsters in world football.
Last night’s performance was another brilliant one from the Chelsea loanee, with the stats backing up the impact he had despite not finding the net.

| Minutes | 90 |
| Accurate passes | 55/59 |
| Tackles | 4 |
| Duels won | 8 |
| Recoveries | 10 |

It seems Chelsea fans are confident he will be making an impact on their side very soon, with supporters predicting he will be a starter for the Blues as soon as next season.
One user said: “I am so, so pleased with Andrey Santos and the development we’ve seen from him since signing for Chelsea. Another TOP performance for RC Strasbourg. These minutes are going to be a MASSIVE reason why he has a successful Chelsea career. I can’t wait for next season.”
Another added: “Andrey Santos will be starting every game for us next season.”
A third stated: “Andrey Santos, Caicedo, Enzo midfield next season. I can’t wait.”
Another claimed: “Andrey Santos is having one of those off the chart performances once again today. What a player!”
Finally, one user said: “Andrey Santos or should I call him Mr. consistency.”

Chelsea’s plan for Andrey Santos
The Blues had the opportunity to recall Santos from his loan in January, with many believing they needed reinforcements in midfield after injury woes have refused to leave Romeo Lavia alone.
However, the club decided to leave both him and Lesley Ugochukwu be, with them believing it is best for their development at this time.
This does not mean there are not big plans for the Brazilian at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea believe Santos will be crucial player under Enzo Maresca next season.
Based on his performances this season, it would be hard to argue that he does not deserve to remain in the first team squad, signalling the end of his time on loan.
