Chelsea continue to be one of the biggest winners year on year from the loan system.

There’s so many examples in Chelsea history of their young players developing out on loan before being introduced into the first-team squad. For example, current Blues stars Reece James and Levi Colwill both went through that exact path in their respective careers.

The current batch of Chelsea loanees are impressing away from Stamford Bridge, including the likes of Alfie Gilchrist and Trevoh Chalobah.

Andrey Santos, 20, may be the pick of the bunch when it comes to Blues loanees this term. The Brazilian midfielder has been sensational during his time with French club Strasbourg.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca thinks Santos has a big future once he returns from his loan spell in France.

In 10 Ligue 1 appearances this season, Santos has scored five goals and created one assist. He’s a nailed-on starter in the Strasbourg midfield and looks mature beyond his years.
