Player sales are at the forefront of Chelsea’s minds at the moment, however there is one rumoured exit this summer which Blues fans have taken issue with.

Reports that Chelsea are keen to sign new defender Jorrel Hato, although his potential addition will come at the expense of at least one player currently at the club.

Axel Disasi is strongly linked with an exit from the Blues, with Villarreal keen on a loan move for the Frenchman who is very much out of Enzo Maresca’s plans.

Even if he does leave, there are reports that Trevoh Chalobah could also be on the chopping block, with it being said that he remains behind Wesley Fofana in the pecking order.

Chelsea fans unhappy with reports Trevoh Chalobah could still be sold

This is despite the former Leicester City man being extremely injury prone. He only played 14 games last season, after not featuring for a single minute in the campaign Mauricio Pochettino was in charge.

Chelsea fans have taken to social media to plead for Todd Boehly and co to learn from previous mistakes and begin to prioritise Chalobah instead.

One user said: “Wesley Fofana has played 34 matches in seasons. Chelsea have played 178 games in that time. That’s 19.1% of games he’s been available for. Chalobah has earned his place in this team, and went through the flames to get there, as a model professional. Let’s learn our lessons.”

Another added: “Chelsea need to respect Chalobah more. Fofana has not done anything to be guaranteed starter for Chelsea. Chalobah has proved himself again and again. The disrespect NEEDS to stop!”

A third stated: “Selling Chalobah for Fofana who has been at Chelsea for 3yrs and almost never fit is unfair to Chalobah. consistency and availability should come first before talent.”

Another claimed: “Not sure it’s a hot take but Chalobah over the last two seasons has proven to be both better and about 5x more reliable than Fofana.

Finally, one user said: “I understand that the club can do whatever they want, and fans’ sentiment does nothing. But it’s starting to not make sense to me how Chalobah is being treated. Fofana in 2025? A player who is barely fit to play… It does not make sense anymore. It is time to appreciate Chalo.”

Chalobah’s unfair treatment at Chelsea

12 months ago, Chalobah was frozen out of the first team squad in a brutal attempt to move him on permanently.

He ended up moving to Crystal Palace on loan, however was called upon to return to Stamford Bridge in January after they were beginning to struggle with injuries at the back.

Chalobah has proven his critics wrong in 2025 and should certainly be utilised as one of the centre-backs in Enzo Maresca’s plans for next season.

It should be noted though that Fofana is one of Maresca’s favourite players, and he is a big fan of the partnership formed between him and Levi Colwill.

It has been reported Chalobah will cost £40m if any side do want to sign him (Sky Sports), however this could be prone to drop if a side are genuinely interested in signing him.
