Chelsea fans around the world are coming to grips with the news that head coach Enzo Maresca has left the club.

Maresca’s future at Stamford Bridge had been called into question recently after he made some interesting comments about being unhappy.

However, nobody expected the Italian to leave quite so soon, despite a run of disappointing results in the Premier League.

His exit reportedly stemmed from a falling out with co-owner Behdad Eghbali, which was evidently past the point of no return.

Blues supporters have now taken to social media to share their honest response to the club’s decision to part ways with Maresca.

Chelsea fans react to Enzo Maresca leaving

Chelsea have one of the biggest and most vocal fanbases in world football, so it was never going to take long to find out how they felt about Maresca’s departure.

And the reaction to his departure has been mostly negative, with many fans turning on Eghbali and the club’s hierarchy.

Enzo Maresca doesn’t like Eghbali, Poch didn’t like Eghbali, the fans don’t like Eghbali, not even Todd Boehly, who owns the club with Eghbali, likes him. This man is the biggest problem at our club,” read one response on X.

Another posted: “Enzo Maresca might be gone, but if the sporting directors don’t leave with him, we will be back to the same problem again.”

A fan added: “Remember this next season when we’re sat bottom half of the table with an average manager who has no clue what he’s doing. Maresca wasn’t perfect, but he put his heart and soul into the club. He at least came out each game day with a gameplan. I’m gutted.”

Meanwhile, other supporters showed their appreciation for the job Maresca did at Chelsea and are sad to see him leave under these circumstances.

Olivia Buzaglo tweeted: “I don’t have one clue what’s actually happened, and I definitely didn’t want Enzo Maresca to go, but I am glad that his leaving is his choice. The whole situation is just such a mess. There’s no one out there to replace him. I don’t know where we go from here.”

“This is so painful,” another fan said. “He wasn’t doing badly. This man won us two trophies last season. We need to stop dismissing good managers at every point. Sigh.”

A final comment summed up the situation: “Thank you, Enzo Maresca. Sick to my stomach that it’s ending like this.”

What would you make of this, Chelsea fans?🤔

Chelsea fans will be more annoyed if Liam Rosenior replaces Enzo Maresca

The bad news for Chelsea fans is that they might become even more frustrated when the club announces its replacement for Maresca.

Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior is one of the favourites to become the next head coach at Stamford Bridge.

The Englishman is doing an excellent job in Ligue 1, but he would not be a popular choice among Chelsea’s fanbase.

Most supporters agree that he is too inexperienced and not high-profile enough to manage the West London club.

A Blues fan wrote: “Sacking Enzo Maresca for Liam Rosenior is exactly the same as sacking Tuchel for Graham Potter. Behdad Eghbali, you are a clown, and you are destroying Chelsea FC.”

“Sacking Maresca for Rosenior is like selling your Lamborghini for a bicycle,” said another.
