Chelsea have parted ways with Enzo Maresca after a season and a half in charge at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are on the hunt for a new manager before their next Premier League game against Manchester City on Sunday.

Maresca ironically is a candidate for the City job should Pep Guardiola depart at the end of the season, but it is the Blues who are looking for a new head coach at this stage.

One manager who is making inroads into his career at the helm is Cesc Fabregas, who has enjoyed a very strong start to life at Como.

Cesc Fabregas not a contender for Chelsea manager job

They currently sit sixth in Serie A, with that being enough for them to qualify for European football next season.

Despite his strong connections with the club from his playing days, journalist Alex Crook has ruled Fabregas out of the running for the current Chelsea vacancy.

He said: “Cesc Fabregas not a contender to replace Maresca at Chelsea Liam Rosenior is on a small shortlist.”

Chelsea fans like the idea of Fabregas at the helm in West London, however will likely see their club go another direction in the managerial market.

Liam Rosenior a strong candidate to take over at Chelsea

Given the fact that Liam Rosenior has enjoyed a strong start at fellow BlueCo club Strasbourg, he was always going to be mentioned as a candidate for the Chelsea job.

What would you make of this, Chelsea fans?🤔

It has been reported Rosenior is an early favourite for the Chelsea job, with the Blues keen to make a swift appointment whoever it is.

Oliver Glasner has already been ruled out of the running, leaving the options limited for Todd Boehly and co to pick from.

There will be pressure on the Chelsea ownership to get this decision right, with many supporters starting to lose faith in the project being undertaken at Stamford Bridge.
