Chelsea goalkeeper target has one of the best save percentages in the Champions League, it’s even higher than Alisson’s

Chelsea could look to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, with neither Robert Sanchez nor Filip Jorgensen impressing at the minute.

Robert Sanchez had to be dropped recently, making a costly error in Chelsea‘s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City last month.

Filip Jorgensen is now Chelsea’s No.1, and while the 22-year-old did not do too badly in the Blues’ 2-1 win against West Ham United, he conceded three goals against Brighton & Hove Albion last Friday.

If Jorgensen cannot prove himself at Stamford Bridge between now and the end of the season, then it would not be a surprise to see the Blues bring in a new goalkeeper.

Caoimhin Kelleher in top five for save success rate in Champions League

One shot-stopper Chelsea are being linked with is Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher.

Kelleher is thought to be a target for Chelsea and has performed well when coming in for Alisson Becker this season.

In fact, according to WhoScored, he even has a higher save percentage than Liverpool’s No.1 in the Champions League.

Kelleher currently has a save success rate of 82.4%, putting him above Alisson and in the top five goalkeepers for that statistic.

How does Caoimhin Kelleher compare to Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen?

Kelleher could be coming to Chelsea to replace Sanchez or Jorgensen, so it makes sense to compare their current save percentages in the Premier League.

Out of the three, Sanchez’s is actually the highest, with the Spaniard recording a save percentage of 76.3%.

Chelsea fans know, though, that there is way more to goalkeeping than that. The 27-year-old has made way too many errors between the sticks this season, and that is why most would probably take Kelleher over him.

As for Jorgensen, the jury is still out on him. He has not had too many opportunities in the Premier League this term, and again, Jorgensen was not terrible against West Ham.

If the Denmark U21 international can take this chance that has been given to him, then there may not be a need for Chelsea to sign Kelleher or any other shot-stopper in the summer.
