Chelsea loanee Carney Chukwuemeka praises Blues man for performance in huge win vs Fulham

Every win is massive from now until the end of the season for Chelsea, and they kicked off that run at the weekend with a huge victory against local rivals Fulham.

It was the first time the Blues had won away from home in 2025, and came at the perfect time for Enzo Maresca as he looks to rescue their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Maresca cut a composed figure at full-time, however will have been buzzing inside that they had returned to the top five in the Premier League.

The manager can take a lot of credit for the late turnaround, with the changes he made from half-time onwards completely turning around Chelsea’s fortunes in the West London derby.

It was Tyrique George who got the Blues back on level terms, scoring his first Premier League goal and injecting life into an attack which was lacking impotence.

Carney Chukwuemeka praises Tyrique George for performance in Chelsea vs Fulham

Alan Shearer claimed George changed the game, and has put himself in serious contention for a start in some crucial Premier League games to come.

Chelsea players who were both in attendance and not were full of praise for the youngster too, with loanee Carney Chukwuemeka leading the praise of the winger in the comments of George’s Instagram post.

Carney Chukwuemeka’s Chelsea status

The midfielder found it extremely difficult to make regular appearances under Maresca. He made just one start in his time at the club before moving on loan in January.

He has managed to get some regular minutes at last, with Chukwuemeka scoring a fine goal in a recent win.

It has been reported that Dortmund would like to continue with Chukwuemeka, however are going to struggle to pay the fee Chelsea desire in order to let him go permanently.

Either way, it looks difficult to see a world where the youngster makes it at Stamford Bridge, and one of Todd Boehly’s signings looks likely to be moving on.
